Project overview:
- First, you will need to choose a focus and develop a research question. In choosing a focus (i.e., aspect of consumer behavior), you will want to consider originality, relevance to the course material, and practicality (e.g., time constraints, availability and accessibility or participants for observation).
- Second, you will need to conduct some background research with the aim of providing a theoretical rationale for your research question. In addition to any relevant course readings, you will also need to consult additional academic books and peer-reviewed journals to provide additional background on your chosen theory/model/framework and specific focus. You will need to provide a list of all references (APA format) used for your project at the end of your paper.
- Third, you will need to select a method for collecting data. You may engage in observation, in-depth interviews, focus groups, surveys, or a mix of these methods. For qualitative data collection, be sure to take copious notes of observations, concrete examples and your own thoughts on the meaning of responses, behaviors, or interactions as these will server as your data.
